Rules Cube: FinTech Innovation at Rocket Speed

Launchpad Team,

Company: Rules Cube
CEO: Saeed Gharnagh
Industry: Financial Services / Fintech
Use Case: Building a complex customer onboarding platform for wealth management firms

Overview

Rules Cube is a Toronto-based software company with deep roots in enterprise system integration, particularly around Pegasystems. After years of consulting for financial institutions, CEO Saeed Gharnagh saw an opportunity to productize a complex onboarding workflow tailored for wealth management firms and credit unions. The challenge? Building an affordable, enterprise-grade solution that smaller financial institutions could realistically adopt and scale with.

That’s where Launchpad came in.

The challenge

Rules Cube had firsthand knowledge of industry pain points from their experience delivering high-end enterprise solutions:

  • High cost of ownership: Licensing and infrastructure costs priced out smaller firms.
  • Limited accessibility: Many boutique wealth firms couldn’t justify enterprise software overhead.
  • Custom dev bottlenecks: Building a similar product in the past required 12 engineers and nearly two years of work—only to be shelved before launch due to COVID and cost constraints.

Even though smaller firms could afford the build, they couldn’t afford the licenses. That’s where Launchpad filled the gap.

Why Launchpad?

ê Familiar Architecture, Faster Ramp

As a long-time Pega partner, the transition to Launchpad was seamless. The team was already fluent in the ecosystem and could begin building immediately.

ê Built-In Architecture & UX

Unlike their past experience, which required a full team of UI/UX developers, Launchpad eliminated the need for custom design work.

“You don’t have to think about database design, UI structure, or hosting. It’s all there.”

ê Enterprise Features, Startup Pricing

Launchpad’s pay-as-you-grow pricing model was pivotal. The team could build and test the product without incurring hosting or license costs until actual usage began.

Fintro enters the stage

Rules Cube built Fintro, a wealth management onboarding product designed to simplify and secure the customer acquisition process. Features include:

  • KYC/AML compliance checks
  • Credit and risk integrations
  • Multi-party onboarding coordination
  • End-to-end orchestration across legacy systems

This was a traditionally enterprise-only capability—now made accessible for smaller firms.

Advice for Founders and Builders

Gharnagh emphasizes that even firms building for heavily regulated sectors like finance can move faster without sacrificing compliance or stability.

If you’re building something new—and cost, time, or infrastructure is a concern—don’t reinvent everything. Launchpad gives you enterprise-level scaffolding without the burden.

— Saeed Gharnagh, CEO, Rules Cube

Looking Ahead

Rules Cube is preparing to bring Fintro to market and has plans to extend its Launchpad-based offerings to more compliance and wealth management use cases across Canada and Latin America.

There are hundreds of credit unions and boutique wealth firms in Canada alone who need this. Launchpad makes that market accessible.

— Saeed Gharnagh, CEO, Rules Cube

Redefining wealth management onboarding at rocket speed

Rules Cube’s journey with Launchpad shows what’s possible when deep industry expertise meets the right platform. By dramatically reducing development time, infrastructure costs, and team size, Launchpad enabled them achieve what had previously been impossible: creating a scalable, enterprise-grade product tailored for smaller financial institutions, with lower development costs and greater speed. With Fintro on the verge of launch, Rules Cube is not only redefining onboarding for wealth management but also proving that innovation doesn’t have to come at the cost of speed, scale, or compliance.
